"WasteKnot" [ weist ] [ not ] noun -
A school-based movement to foster a sustainable future, encouraging the reuse of school uniforms by students
The Problem:
In the US, over 12 million tons of fashion are generated annually. The average article of clothing is worn just seven times before it’s thrown out. This travesty is echoed in our academic institutions as students outgrow, matriculate from the institution, or simply want ‘new’ uniforms. Throwing away or wasting otherwise good uniform pieces with remaining life and usefulness.

The Solution:
WasteKnot is a school-based movement to foster a sustainable future, encouraging the reuse of school uniforms by students. Every school can create a sustainable ecosystem to promote and celebrate the recycling and reuse of uniforms that are generally wasted as students outgrow them.
With you, the WasteKnot movement educates, motivates, and provides the genesis of a fundamental change in the beliefs, behavior, habits, and actions of students and their families. This change models the philosophy and practice of reuse and evolution beyond the throw-away culture of disposable fashion.
